Biography

Arlyn Anderson is a professional guitarist based in Sacramento, CA, specializing in jazz and pop music. He has performed professionally with such greats as Butterscotch, Andrew Heringer, Steve Homan, Julia Dollison, Mike McMullen, Steve Roach, Harley White Jr., Aaron Garner, Gerry Pineda and Brian Kendrick. His pop bands have shared bills with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Trey Anastasio and Les Claypool. While at San Joaquin Delta College and Sacramento State, Arlyn had shared the stage with Geoffrey Keezer, Dave Pietro, Tim Ries, Wayne Wallace, Warren Gale, Bobby Watson, Ed Shaughnessy, Bobby Shew, and Bruce Paulson.
Arlyn currently performs regularly throughout northern California with the Arlyn Anderson Trio, Quartet and Groove Project, the Peter Petty Band, the Bumptet, the Emily Kollars Band, the Ron Cunha Big Band, the Knockouts, the Mayfair Jazz combo, and other various projects. These groups perform various styles of traditional and modern jazz, pop, funk, and fusion.
Arlyn has studied classical guitar at San Joaquin Delta College, and jazz studies at Sacramento State University. He currently offers private instruction in the Sacramento area.
